Despite being heavily bound to the ground, the pit is separated from the surrounding landscape, such as a shelter or grave. The drearyness of the space of ‘Umm’, barrenness, absence, rugged, wild, and extremely intimate sedimentation are the main character of the space.
The house, designed as a guest house, consists of non-functional form on the ground and a functional plan underground-two bedrooms, a common kitchen and a courtyard. The two opposite bedrooms sit about a meter down and recognize the courtyard as a surface.
Form on the ground(function as a roof, bench or stone tomb...) floats above the surface due to window(for ventilation and lighting) in the bedroom. Rough and unscaled concrete cover the whole, hope to give toughness, purity or uncanny atmosphere.
